Movie Screenshot Game Round XXII Extravaganza

The game grinds on, and has more or less become the Mark, Roy and Alex show. So be it – we all seem to be having fun at least! Anyway, I was thinking that we’re due for a curveball, and since Friday is List Day, I’m going to post 5, that’s right, 5 screenshots for this round. You have to get them all right to win. Rules and screenshots below the fold…

Update: Hints are posted in the comments. Let’s go people! I’ll give it a couple more days, because these are hard screens and there are 5 of them…

Again Update: Roy won! Swipe blocks next to each screenshot below for the answer. Also, Roy has posted the next round, so go and play…

First, the rules:

  • I’m going to post a screenshot from a movie. If you’re the first person to guess the movie, you win!
  • If you win, you have to continue the game by posting a screenshot on your blog with the same rules outlined here (please to the main post as well). The winner of your round will host the next round, and so on.
  • If you don’t have a blog (and if you don’t want to start one), I’ll host the next round as well (the screenshot should still come from the winner, if possible). If you do have a blog, but the winner of your round doesn’t, you should host the next round too.
  • Once the winner posts their screenshot, I’ll link to it from this post. Each winner needs to link to the next winner, and so on.
  • Only movies are eligible. No television shows.
  • If no one can figure out the answer within 3 days, then you’ve stumped the internet. If you want, you can give hints. If we still have no winner, then congratulations, you’ve won. Maybe I’ll start a hall of fame or something. Give everyone the answer, and post another screenshot (or pass the baton to someone else, and link them). If you decide to host the next round, be nice, and post an easier screenshot. This game would be no fun if you keep posting random landscapes from obscure Italian films.

Again, minor change for this round – I’m posting 5 screenshots and you have to guess them all to win. Here they are (click images for larger versions):

Get guessing people!

  1. Damnit. I know 2 of them for sure, but I don’t know the rest. 1 and 3 look really familiar, but I can’t quiet place them. 3 looks like Tim Roth, but I can’t remember a movie other than Resevoir Dogs where he ends up all bloody, and that’s clearly not Resevoir Dogs.

  2. Heheh. All of mine have been easy so far, so I figured I’d try to make these a little harder. The only thing I’ll say for now is that #3 isn’t Tim Roth. Now that I think about it, that’s probably the most difficult one, as the actors aren’t famous and they’re only in the movie for 5-10 minutes tops. Maybe I’ll give some hints later…

  3. The Alex, Mark and Roy Show is clearly the best show on the internet!

I have no idea what these five are, though. I think I know two and four. When you said that you were going to do five, I thought that it would split across to five sides of the internet – one person guesses each, then hosts another on their site, and then the world explodes.

  4. Sorry folks, I was away for a couple days here. But I’m back. I guess I went a little too far in the difficulty direction. Here’s a few hints:

    1. Kurt Russell is visiting an Asian… parlor, and he’s looking for a chinese girl with blue eyes (er, I think it was blue eyes).

    2. The guy on the right is Ernest Borgnine.

    3. How to explain this. These people are dead, and they’re talking to the person who killed them. And it takes place in England.

    4. This one is a little tricky, as the actor pretty much plays the same role in 2 films, though his role is significantly smaller in this film.

    5. This guy is taking a picture of someone else, who is holding a copy of the current day’s New York Times (so as to prove that the picture was taken that day).

    Get guessing!

And Alex, that’s a neat idea, but… I still don’t get enough traffic for that sort of thing. Plus, I don’t want to have to keep track of 5 freakin threads of this game:P

  5. Well, I’m gonna go ahead and throw out guesses even though I know that a number of them are wrong.

    1. Big Trouble in Little China?

    2. The Wild Bunch!

    3.

    4. Nikita

    5.

Eh. I have no idea for 3 and 5 yet, and I’m not so sure about 1. That *sounds* like BTiLC, but I don’t remember that particular scene, and Russell looks older than I think he should.

  6. Ok, I realize this sorta defeats the purpose of the game, but additional hints for 3 and 5:

    3. More specifically, this story takes place in London, and the person these dead people are talking to is an American. In London. An American in London.

    5. This character’s name is Marvin Dorfler.

This should do it, right? Right?

  7. Heh.

    3. Okay, let me see… how about An American Werewolf in London?

    5. I googled it- Midnight Run.

I think you stumped the interwebs Mister Mark.

What part of BTiLC was that capture from? I totally don’t remember that part.

  8. And Roy takes it! Nice work:)

Have you never seen Midnight Run? One of my favorite 80s buddy comedies:P

It’s towards the beginning of the film. There was that fight in the streets when Kurt Russel and the other guy were going after his girlfriend, then they ended up back and some restaurant, and then they sent Kurt Russel to find her at the Chinese prostitution place. That’s the scene.
