I suppose I could have done a 12 days of Christmas post in the vein of the 4 weeks of Halloween posts, but there’s obviously no time left. So here are a few things I’ve watched, read, or listened to recently in preparation for Christmas.
- Trading Places: Not technically a Christmas movie, but it takes place mostly during the holidays and I watch it almost every year. It’s a fantastic movie.
- Linus & Lucy – A Charlie Brown Christmas (Soundtrack) (song)
- Dominick The Italian Christmas Donkey (song)
- Futurama – Xmas Story: The Simpsons have the best Halloween episodes, but Futurama is way better when it comes to Christmas. A Tale of Two Santas is the other brilliant Futurama Christmas story.
- South Park – Woodland Critter Christmas: South Park is probably the king of Christmas episodes, even if they’re a little edgy and weird. This particular episode is one of the most bizarre, disturbing Christmas stories I’ve ever seen.
- South Park – The Spirit of Christmas: These original shorts are the precursors to the South Park tv show. The Jesus vs. Santa one is amazing.
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation: Another yearly tradition around here. The best Christmas lights I’ve seen, a lighting quick sledding session, what else could you ask for?
- SNL – Delicious Dish with Specual Guest, Pete Schwetty
- SNL – The Lost Ending of “It’s a Wonderful Life”
- A Very Venture Christmas
That’s all for now. Mery Christmas!
