I said to myself yesterday, I really want to watch the two Futurama Xmas episodes tonight, then realized I couldn't, as I'd loaned Seasons 1 - 4 to my brother and not gotten them back yet. Then I got home, and turned the TV on, and Adult Swim was showing the second one, which I think is the slightly better of the two. It was an Xmas miracle! I pinched a nerve in my back on Saturday. Despite icing it down, it was worse Sunday. But then Sunday night I took a shower and let really hot water at high pressure hit my back. My back was 95% better in 15 seconds. Now that was a Christmas miracle. Posted by: Spencer on December 26, 2007 7:59 PM
Both Futurama Xmas episodes were on Christmas Eve. They're both great episodes. I understand that the new movie also features Robot Santa, but I haven't seen it yet (it's in my Netflix queue) Spence, glad you're feeling better! Hooray for Christmas miracles. My girlfriend got scolded at work for referring to Christmas as "Xmas." We both do it was a matter of course, from watching so much Futurama. It makes me smile, because it makes me think of those episodes. Her coworker told her "Don't leave the Christ out of Christmas." This statement is sort of inappropriate to say to someone at work, and also displays ignorance, as Xmas and Xian are common abbreviations, stemming from the fact that in Greek, the first letter of the word "Christ" is "chi," or in Greek "X." She just smiled and didn't pay it any mind, as her new job is awesome and she loves it. Spence, glad to hear you're feeling better. I've suffered from minor back troubles here or there, and shudder at the thought of more serious issues. I declare that a much better Xmas miracle than a TV network showing a Christmas themed episode of a show they already air on Christmas Eve. Posted by: foucault on December 27, 2007 1:40 AM
