At the start of
this thread, I made it clear that I wasn't discussing the issue of
wrongdoing by the administration. I'm not trying to defend the
adminstration. I'm simply trying to understand why you feel it's
accepatable to selectively quote the interviews to make your
point.
I'll admit that the exchange you just quoted is not
significantly altered, but that was not the only quote you
mentioned, nor was it really the quote I had a big problem with
(perhaps this is where I have been unclear).
Please go back
to my first
response and take a look at the March 16 interview again. This
is what I had problems with. When reading that interview, it is
clear that Cheney does not believe that Saddam actually had a
working nuclear weapon, and he makes several statements to the
contrary during the course of the interview.
