...I'll have to
go with what Robert Scheer said of Wolfowitz: "Even his correction
needs correcting." There were no nuclear weapons and their was no
nuclear weapons program. Last Sunday, he cited the story of the man
who had buried a nuclear component under a bush 12 years ago as
evidence of a past nuclear program. All this demonstrates is that
there was a nuclear program before the first Gulf War. The man said
he was to bury it there and await an order to dig it up when and if
the program was revived. That order never came. So by
mentioning this story, Cheney was actually providing evidence that
there was no revived nuclear weapons program, yet he puts the
spin in the opposite direction. Can't you see that?
More
weasel words from tricky Dicky:
MR. RUSSERT: The Washington Post asked the American
people about Saddam Hussein, and this is what they said: 69
percent said he was involved in the September 11 attacks. Are you
surprised by that? VICE PRES. CHENEY: No. I think it’s not
surprising that people make that connection. I guess
this particular weasling was just too much to swallow, so Rummy and
Bush had to come out and say that there is no connection. Cheney is
an expert at on-the-fly spin and propaganda.
