I don't think
the case is weak at all, tallman. Last Sunday when Cheney was
confronted with some tough questions, he went backwards in time
citing evidence that Hussein sought to aquire nuclear weapons over a
decade ago, as if that had any bearing on Hussein's current WMD
status and the need to go to war. There was no conclusive evidence
of either a nuclear weapon OR a nuclear weapons program. In EITHER
case, Cheney "misspoke" (read: deceived, mislead, LIED). What you
are essentially saying is, "No, Four, he didn't lie about
this; he lied about that."
And by the way, what
was the headline on all the papers after the first Russert
interview: "We Believe He Has in Fact Reconstituted Nuclear
Weapons." This is something the administration gets away with time
and time again. Remember how many times we actually "found" WMD in
Iraq? That was Page A1. The next day, the retraction was in small
print on page D22.
