"Details that Cheney cited to make the case that the Iraqi dictator had ties to Al Qaeda have been dismissed by the CIA as having no basis, according to analysts and officials."

he claimed that a report of an Al Qaeda operative meeting with an Iraqi agent in Prauge was neither comfirmed nor refuted, saying "we just don't know." that report was refuted by the CIA almost immediately after being made.

i'm taking this from an article in today's Boston Globe, page A1.

the picture i've gotten is that no one has ever offered proof, nor even strong evidence, of any Iraq-AQ link. yet Cheney keeps making the whole thing very vauge, hinting strongly that there is.

the sleaziness of that is just off the scale. this administration is not holding itself accountable for anything or to anybody. where is the evidence for nuclear weapons??? where is the evidence of iraq-terrorist links??? the CIA is annoyed with the White House for misuse of information. why aren't Americans???

we are not being lied to in a way that would make these people guilty of perjury. we are being lied to by very slick men who know which words to use to create strong impressions and convictions without actually saying anything. in my mind, that's far worse.

it is my firm conviction that this country is being run by criminals.
